*1887: J. Robinson patented a food carrier (dinner pail).

*1902: Langston Hughes was born.

*1926: Negro History Week began (now Black History Month). It was founded by Carter G. Woodson.

*1960: The Sit-in movement, started by North Carolina A&T students, began in a store in Greensboro, North Carolina.
