R&B singer and American Idol winner Ruben Studdard was in the Chicagoland area recently speaking on sickle cell, as part of the "Be Sickle Smart" national campaign. The disease is prevalent in the Black community. Studdard is currently working on his fourth album and will be onstage in November as Fats Waller in the "Ain’t Misbehavin‘" musical.
