August 25th is National Kiss and Make-Up Day! Who Knew?

National Kiss and Make-up Day Relationships Chicago DefenderJacqueline Milgate, the founder of National Kiss and Make-Up Day, developed this day years ago to set aside time to reconcile relationships with loved ones and restore harmony with them. Quarrels, disagreements, arguments are all apart of life. In fact, in many ways, they are healthy. You get to express your needs, concerns, and frustrations. They allow you to see things from a different perspective. It creates a certain level of vulnerability, which can generate a deeper level of intimacy or reveal changes that need to occur in relationships.  We have all had a dispute or two in our lifetime, and fortunately, many of us have had the pleasure of making up.

National Kiss and Make-up day is dedicated to righting wrongs in relationships, reconnecting with those we have lost touch with, and forgiving those who hurt us. If you are unsure how to break the ice on the road to making up, look at the list below and choose one of the following to do.

Heart Check

The idea of reconciliation is something everyone should consider, especially during the tumultuous times we are currently living in.  Forgiveness is good for the soul. Reconciliation is useful for creating peace and harmony with others. If you don’t do anything else today, take a moment to reach out to someone you believe you need to reconnect with and have a makeup session that will cleanse your soul and uplift your spirit.
