A suburban Chicago man known for decking his Tinley Park home with intricate designs is taking his over-the-top Christmas lights display to network television.
Dominic Kowalczyk is one of 20 homeowners from around the country chosen for ABC’s “The Great Christmas Light Fight” show, which debuted last week. Kowalczyk, 30, told ABC Chicago it took him, his girlfriend and a group of friends about 300 hours to erect the display which comprises 100,000 lights and more than a mile of extension cords.
“It be great to win, but I don’t even care if I do,” Kowalczyk told the Tribune last month. “It’s about decorating, having a good time, (and) having my friends and family all together.”
