Hyde Park Summer Fest returns in June after being canceled for the past two years due to COVID-19. Summer Fest will be held on June 11 – 12, 2022, at the Midway Plaisance (59th St. and Dorchester Ave.). This will be the seventh annual event of the Hyde Park Summer Fest. This year the Summer Fest will be a ticketed event with a portion of all ticket sales being matched by BOWA Construction (BOWAgives) and donated to Chicago Public Schools. The organizers of the event Jonathan T. Swain and Dave Jeff are excited for the return of this Covid-safe and South Side-based festival.
Organizer and Congressional Candidate, Jonathan T. Swain said, “The Hyde Park Summer Fest has made history year in and year out by bringing people together on the South Side of Chicago thus cultivating a community music festival. Our festival was built on our love for the community and is maintained by our dedication to investing in the South Side both socially and economically. The pandemic may have stopped us before, but we are coming back stronger than ever with Covid-safety protocols. We are enhancing the festival experience with national and international performing artists. To say that I am excited would be an understatement. The Summer Fest is an opportunity for people to connect and celebrate cross-culturally and safely on Chicago’s South Side.”
Organizer, Dave Jeff added, “The South Side is the home of the Hyde Park Summer Fest, and this year, we are opening our front door and welcoming people from all over the world. This festival will continue to foster an environment that is embedded in the South Side of Chicago while inviting people from all over to come together over the common appreciation of music.
