During Thursday’s episode of The Breakfast Club, Charlamagne, whose real name is Lenard McKelvey, responded to Vance’s recent appearance on the All-In podcast, where the vice president made the case for Republicans ahead of the 2026 midterm elections.
“There’s a lot of good that’s been done, but there’s a lot of work left to do,” Vance said. “Don’t give power to the people who caused the problems that we’re fixing. Give us another chance, or give us another couple years, to continue to work on the amazing things that we’ve been doing for the past two years.”
Charlamagne had a question for Vance.
“What happened with the chance you already have?” he asked. “You’re the vice president right now. Donald Trump is the president right now. Republicans control Congress right now.”
Charlamagne said voters have a right to evaluate the administration’s record before considering whether to give Republicans more time.
“You know what I’m thinking about as a voter? What did you promise? What did you deliver? What didn’t you deliver? What got better? What got worse?” he said.
“If the Trump administration believes it has accomplishments it can point to, then point to them. Make the case. I don’t give a damn about you pleading for another chance,” Charlamagne continued.
He also said voters should focus on what has happened while Republicans have been in power rather than previous administrations.
“We voting based on what has happened on your watch,” Charlamagne said. “That’s the responsibility that comes with the seat.”
Charlamagne ultimately called Vance’s request “a stupid thing for a sitting vice president to say,” adding that the administration should “deliver what you promised” before asking voters for more time.
