The Chicago HBCU Baseball Classic is a first-of-its-kind event bringing Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) to Wrigley Field for a historic matchup between Prairie View A&M University and Alabama A&M University on May 2, 2026. Presented in partnership with the Chicago Cubs, the Classic is part of a broader, citywide initiative that includes youth programming, educational events and community engagement activities designed to expand opportunity, inspire the next generation and celebrate the legacy and cultural impact of HBCUs. The event represents a new tradition for Chicago, connecting sport, culture and community on one of baseball’s most iconic stages.
