Who Else But Beyonce Could Pull it Off

Nobody but the Queen Bey can do it like she does with grace, confidence and comfort with no need to flaunt putting everyone around her at ease even though she upstages them all. Still it’s a beautiful thing to see others acknowledge and give her her props including her proud hubby Jay-Z who bowed to her.

Tuesday  Beyoncé was presented with the Fashion Icon Award by CFDA chair Diane von Furstenberg.  Never predictable except, always perfectly coiffed from head to toe, she did not disappoint.

Dressed in a sparkling pinstriped suit made just for her by Givenchy’s Riccardo Tisci, she was as always, comfortable in her skin and the suit appeared an extension of her persona. Paired with it was a feminine laced edwardian collared body suit.

Beyonce owned it all, the suit, the attention and the Fashion Icon Award. Somehow she managed to wear the suit most would have been lost in behind its brilliance. Styled more like a suit Michael Jackson wore in his “Smooth Criminal” video, yet the fabric was reminiscent of the outfit he wore in his “Rock With You,” video toned down and conservative comparatively but it brought the blink grabbing attention and held all eyes on her.

The suit was completed with exquisite  jewelry worth, $9 million on loan from designer Lorraine Schwartz accenting the outfit as subtle as was these hit.   The Queen draped in ice wore a $7 million necklace with over 100 carats of diamonds, 25 carat diamond studs, and at least 4 diamond rings. She wore Black Louboutin Lady peeps and topped it off with a wide brim black hat giving her an air of mystique and sophistication.
Like the ol'folks used to say, "Beyonce was dressed to the nines."

Humbly she took the stage, accepted the award and thanked CEDA warmly with appreciation. Clearly the stage is her home where she is in command. Applauded by the audience she descended from the stage and resumed her quiet soft spoken off-stage demeanor where she did some mix and mingling.
Who else could have pulled it off as if she was wearing jeans  and a cotton shirt?
