Two teens gunned down in separate cases

Two teens were fatally shot Wednesday night in separate incidents on the South and West Sides.

Two teens were fatally shot Wednesday night in separate incidents on the South and West Sides. While leaving a high school basketball game at Harlan high school about 7:15 p.m., Sergio Dukes was shot twice in the head and once in the chest in the 9600 block of South Indiana Avenue, police said. Dukes, 18, of the 6100 block of South Kimbark Avenue, appeared to have been targeted, police said. About two hours later on the West Side, a group of teens walked up to Christopher Hanford in the 900 block of North Lawler Avenue, and one of them shot the 19-year-old man in the face. Hanford, of the 1000 block of North Leamington Avenue, was pronounced dead at Mount Sinai Hospital at 9:46 p.m. Dukes was pronounced dead at Roseland Hospital at 7:55 p.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office.
