Tiffany Henyard Makes History as First Female Mayor of Dolton.

Current Dolton Trustee and Mayor-Elect be joined by over 200 Dolton residents, Regional Elected Officials, Local Elected Officials, Clergypersons and Civic leaders as she will take the Oath of Office as Mayor of the Village of Dolton.  On April 6th, Henyard defeated her General Election opponent by a whopping 82% of the vote. Mayor-Elect Henyard will become the first woman to be sworn in as Mayor of the 30,000-resident town.

“This election has always been about the residents of Dolton. I have given my life for this community and will seek to make Dolton residents proud as we prepare to assume the seat of the Mayor,” says Henyard.  Bishop Larry D. Trotter of the Sweet Holy Spirit Church of Chicago adds, “We have all witness Dolton’s decline over the past ten years. But we are encouraged about Tiffany Henyard’s brilliant plans for Dolton and her spirit of inclusion that will usher in a renewed spirit of optimism for the town.”

Over the past year, Tiffany organized an outstanding campaign team and platform in her quest to become the next Mayor of Dolton, Illinois.  Henyard 37, a lifelong resident of Dolton, has dedicated her life to public service. Tiffany got involved in government to make a difference and was urged by a great number of Dolton residents to run for higher office.

“It didn’t take long for me to see the challenges that we are facing as a village but more importantly the opportunities that are available.” I didn’t just run for an office; I ran for every Dolton voter.” says Trustee Henyard.  Henyard believes that her current role as Village Trustee as well as her successful business career has justifiably positioned her for this historic opportunity.

Trustee Henyard is offering to Dolton voters a combination of fiscal and administrative experiences that makes her uniquely qualified to become Mayor of Dolton. She has long held a vision of inclusion and no exclusion as it relates to governing. But moreover, she wants to engineer change and create an atmosphere of transparency in Dolton Village Hall.

Henyard pledges to fight for tax fairness to help families stay in their homes by working with the Cook County Assessor and boldly market Dolton in hopes of attracting successful businesses and jobs ultimately resulting in new families moving into Dolton.

Henyard lives in Dolton and is the proud mother of her two-year-old daughter, Justice Walker.
