‘The Real’ Preview Special Set Ahead of Sept. 15 Premiere

The ladies of “The Real” are jumping the gun with a scheduled preview special to air sometime before its official Sept. 15 premiere.
The half-hour sneak peek is billed as a way to “get to know the ladies” of the daytime chat show: Tamar Braxton, Tamera Mowry-Housley, Loni Love, Jeannie Mai and Adrienne Bailon.

Audiences in the seven test markets that aired the younger-skewing program last summer – New York (WNYW), Los Angeles (KTTV), Washington D.C. (WTTG), Philadelphia (WTXF), Phoenix (KSAZ), Houston (KRIV) and Tampa (WTVT) – are already familiar with the various personalities of the co-hosts, three of whom starred in their own reality shows.
Bailon (of Style Network’s “Empire Girls: Julissa and Adrienne” fame) along with Mai and Braxton, are the feisty ones, while Mowry-Housley is the more reserved traditionalist, and comedian Love is Whoopi-esque with her one-liners and constant two cents.
“At the end of the day we do look at Tamera as like the mommy of the group,” Tamar told TCA critics last month at Warner Bros. Studios, where the show is filmed. “And then, Loni is like the auntie you go to for advice. She’s going to keep it one hundred with you, no matter what you ask her.”
“But I have sex,” blurted Loni. “I’m sexual. I’m not that auntie that never gets any.”
Braxton, who begins her fourth season of WeTV’s “Braxton Family Values” on Aug. 14, says wouldn’t change a thing about herself from the 2013 test run.
