The 2020 NBA All-Star Game will be the first time in over three decades that Chicago will be the host city for this family event. The game will take place at the United Center on Sunday, Feb. 16, marking the first time the NBA All-Star Game will be played in this iconic basketball city in over three decades – the United Center, home of the six-time NBA champion Chicago Bulls.
NBA All-Star Weekend in Chicago will commence on Feb. 14 (a.k.a. Valentine’s Day), with the Crossover at Navy Pier, an experience geared toward the fans. This three-day event will highlight the NBA’s influence on pop culture, including music, art, fashion, and technology. NBA players and legends will be making appearances during the event. The Crossover will also provide fans the opportunity to experience conversations, exclusive product drops, and musical performances. The event times vary each day. Ticket pricing is $20 for a 1-day ticket and $45 for a three-day ticket.
The first official game of All-Star weekend Chicago takes place on Feb. 14. The kick-off event is the NBA All-Star celebrity game. Offend the highlight of every All-Star weekend this game features musicians, actors, comedians, as well as WNBA players and NBA Legends. Happening at Wintrust Arena, the game starts at 6 p.m.
The NBA Rising Stars Challenge will also take place on Feb. 14 at the United Center. Here the NBA’s top rookies and sophomores are pitted in two groups and go head-to-head on the court, which will pit two groups of young players against each other for a game. Chicago’s own Taylor Bennett will perform for the halftime show. The game starts at 8 p.m. The ticket pricing varies.
NBA All-Star Practice & Media Day takes place on Feb. 15. This exclusive, behind-the-scenes event allows you the opportunity to see the NBA’s biggest stars interviewed by media from around the world. NBA fans can then watch the entire All-Star Game squad train for Sunday’s showcase.
In addition, the NBA All-Star Saturday Night also takes place at the United Center on Feb. 15. This is when you can catch your favorite players competing in the Skills Challenge, Three-Point Contest, and the much-anticipated Slam Dunk Contest.
The main event takes place at 7 p.m. on Feb. 16 at the United Center. NBA All-Star Game. Entertainer and Chicago native, Common will serve as the game’s emcee welcoming fans to Chicago. He will also provide a narrative about what basketball means to Chicago before introducing players from both teams before tip-off.
The Bennett brothers, Chance the Rapper and his brother Taylor, will also serve as “NBA All-Star Ambassadors,” collaborating with the NBA, the Chicago Bulls, and the Chicago Sports Commission to develop community and fan-driven program.
