Teen fatally shot inside a Southeast Side store

A sixth grade boy and a 20-year-old man were shot Wednesday inside a grocery store in the 2500 block of East 106th Street, police said.

A sixth grade boy and a 20-year-old man were shot Wednesday inside a grocery store in the 2500 block of East 106th Street, police said. An unidentified man shot into Hook Finer Foods about 8:15 p.m., killing 13-year-old Sameere Conn of the 10700 block of South Bensley Avenue. He was pronounced dead at 3:40 a.m. at the University of Chicago Comer Children’s Hospital, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office. The 20-year-old man was shot in the foot and taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn. Police said it is not clear what sparked the incident and have a man in custody.
