Shooting on Chicago expressway leaves driver dead

CHICAGO (AP) — Investigators in Chicago are looking for a gunman who fatally shot another motorist on a Chicago expressway.

Illinois State Police say a 25-year-old man was driving an SUV on the Dan Ryan Expressway late Wednesday when he was shot by another motorist. The victim’s SUV veered off the highway on Chicago’s South Side where it struck a fence and some poles before crashing into a business in a strip mall.

The Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office says Larry Porter was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say a 34-year-old passenger in the SUV was treated for a minor graze wound, while a 27-year-old man in the back seat wasn’t hurt.

There’s no word of any arrests.
