Good Hope Free Will Church to Host Loveday Celebration for Homeless

This Valentine’s Day, February 14, Pastor Cornelius Parks and the Good Hope Free Will Baptist Church on Chicago’s West Side will host the annual “Loveday Celebration” to provide those experiencing homelessness with hot meals and an opportunity to find community at the church. Through its Community Credits program, DoorDash will be providing $3,000 in hot meals from local restaurants, including Ruby’s Soul Food and Chicago Chicken Shack, for community members.

The event begins at 12 pm until 3 pm at Good Hope Free Will Baptist Church located at 525 S. California.  Participants are encouraged to arrive by 12:30 pm.

The community event will provide those experiencing homelessness with hot meals, hygiene products, and other services free of charge while fostering a sense of community

DoorDash launched the Community Credits program in January 2021 as an innovative way to support and empower nonprofit organizations. DoorDash awards Community Credits to individuals and organizations that are helping those in need gain access to meals and other essentials.
