Exit polls Obama supporters WORSOM ROBINSON 1

CHICAGO (AP) — President Barack Obama won his home state of Illinois carrying every age group and winning among both men and women.

Data from exit polls conducted for The Associated Press also show Republican Mitt Romney pushed Obama to a tie among white voters. Support for Obama from white voters slipped slightly from 2008. Data show most white men favored Romney in Illinois.

But blacks and Hispanics overwhelmingly backed the president. Obama also won a bigger share of Hispanics than he did four years ago.
