After ending his 13-year career with the Miami Heat, Dawyne wade announced earlier this week that he would be joining his hometown NBA team, the Chicago Bulls.
Yesterday morning Wade co-hosted ‘Live with Kelly,’ stating that his decision to leave Miami was “surreal,” according to Complex Sports. Wade signed a two-year, $47.5 million contract with the Bulls Wednesday.
He went on to thank Heat fans for embracing “this little shy kid from Chicago” by way of Milwaukee, where he played at Marquette. Though he says playing for his hometown team fulfills a childhood goal.
“I’ve always envisioned myself being in the backyard, always had a Bulls jersey on, always envisioned Dwyane Wade’s name being called in the United Center. I get the opportunity to live that dream out,” he said.
We’ve always envisioned you here, too. Welcome home D. Wade!
