ATLANTA – Singing sensation Phillippia Williams definitely infused a festive holiday spirit into rap impresario T.I.’s Scales 925 Restaurant as Atlanta City Council President Ceasar C. Mitchell hosted the Men of Distinction-Atlanta and Women of Distinction Incorporated’s holiday soiree on Saturday, Dec. 5.
Phillippia nearly caused the roof to cave in as she packed a powerful blend of Patti LaBelle and Fantasia in terms of voice range and stage charisma to help make the season of giving in the restaurant fun. She shared the stage time with nationally renowned performer Reginald Harris. All guests were asked to bring new unwrapped toys.
The Council President and others brought holiday greetings to this annual event that collects new unwrapped toys for children ages newborn to 19 years old. The toys will be distributed to shelters that house children and to low-income communities.
Men of Distinction-Atlanta (MOD) and Women of Distinction (WOD) strive to improve the welfare of children through charitable giving, community contributions, and mentoring programs.
President Mitchell and Councilman Bond are both members of MOD.
