A fundraiser co-chaired by Cook County Circuit Clerk Dorothy Brown was named in a federal corruption indictment against the former mayor of New Orleans.

Brown, who is a Louisiana native, hosted the 2006 fundraiser for Ray Nagin in Chicago.

The “Sun-Times” reports contractor Mark St. Pierre helped organize the event.  Prosecutors say St. Pierre used the fundraiser to make concealed campaign contributions in exchange for “no bid” city business from Nagin.

Prosecutors say St. Pierre also was a big political donor to Brown and did work for Cook County.

Brown has not been accused of any wrongdoing.
