Chicago’s Peter CottonTale “Pray For Real” Hits #24 on Billboard Gospel

Chicago’s Peter CottonTale, the Grammy Award-winning producer and artist, celebrates reaching top 25 on Billboard Gospel’s National Airplay Chart – debuting at #24, with his progressive and hip-hop infused single, “Pray For Real,” featuring Tobi Lou and long-time collaborator, Chance The Rapper.  “Pray For Real” is lifted from CottonTale’s debut album CATCH and is available now at all major digital streaming and retail outlets.

Peter CottonTale was first known as Peter Wilkins and as a member of the Chance the Rapper-affiliated group the Social Experiment as well as a close collaborator with Chance the Rapper on his own tracks. The Chicago based musical genius worked behind the scenes on projects that opened doors for collaborations with mainstream artists. His résumé grew from working on self-released mixtapes to credits on tracks by SZA, Lil Wayne, J. Cole, and Skrillex.

Peter CottonTale’s critically acclaimed debut album, CATCH, features 31 artists including, Kirk Franklin, Tiff Joy, New Direction, Fred Hammond, PJ Morton, Daniel Caesar, Jeremih, Jamila Woods, and more. CATCH is a 17-track contemporary hybrid fusing gospel, hip-hop, and R&B.

Peter CottonTale’s debut single, “Pray For Real,” is a positive, gospel-influenced track with lyrics like “I pray for vision / I pray for wisdom / I pray for weapons against the system / I pray for freedom to free the victims / To help the praying, no pain inflict ’em / I pray for real.”

“We talk a lot about what inspires us. I was actually trying to put that in this music. This is inspirational music,” said CottonTale.
