Chicagoland Apartment Association Opens Applications for 2026 Pathways to Excellence DE&I Scholarship Program

Scholarship provides professional development opportunities to underrepresented leaders in the apartment industry

The Chicagoland Apartment Association (CAA) is now accepting applications for its 2026 Pathways to Excellence DE&I Scholarship Program. The initiative is designed to expand access to professional development and industry engagement opportunities for apartment management companies, property owners, and supplier partners who are committed to fostering diverse and inclusive workplaces.

The program aims to reduce barriers to participation in the apartment industry by connecting businesses led by individuals from historically underrepresented communities with the resources available through CAA membership.

Five Chicagoland apartment industry companies will be selected to receive a complimentary one-year CAA membership, valued at up to $1,000, along with access to key industry events, mentorship opportunities, and peer networking experience.

“Through this program, CAA hopes to introduce new voices, perspectives and leaders to the association while providing meaningful opportunities for professional growth and connection,” said Michael Mini, Executive Vice President of the Chicagoland Apartment Association. “Creating pathways for broader participation strengthens our industry and the communities we serve.”

The Pathways to Excellence program is open to apartment management companies, property owners and supplier partners located in the Chicagoland area that prioritize diversity and inclusion within their organizations. Recipients must commit to participating in at least one CAA diversity, equity and inclusion-focused event during the membership year.

The scholarship program was developed specifically for companies owned or led by individuals from historically underrepresented communities, including Black/African American, LatinX/Hispanic, Asian American or Pacific Islander, Indigenous/Native American, women, veterans, LGBTQ+ individuals, people with disabilities, and other underrepresented groups identified by applicants.

The scholarship application deadline is June 30, 2026; *Current nor former CAA members are not eligible at this time
