The Illinois State Museum in Springfield is currently featuring an inspiring new exhibit celebrating the remarkable artistic journey of Sylvia Fedrick, a Chicago-born recording artist and actress whose creative story reflects resilience, faith, and hometown pride.
The exhibit, which opened on July 28, 2025, and runs through June 1, 2026, offers visitors an immersive look at Sylvia Fedrick’s evolution — from her early beginnings in Chicago to her emergence as a dynamic voice in music and performance art.
“It’s an incredible honor to have my life and art recognized in this way,” said Sylvia Fedrick. “Chicago made me who I am, and to share my journey with others through the Illinois State Museum is truly special.”
To celebrate this achievement, Lighthouse Church of All Nations—Sylvia Fedrick’s home church—will be hosting a road trip to the exhibit on Saturday, April 11, 2026, inviting members and supporters to experience the exhibit together. The trip represents not only a celebration of artistic success but also a testament to faith, perseverance, and the power of community uplift.
