CHICAGO (AP) — Chicago police say a Chicago man has been arrested on a first-degree murder charge in the weekend slaying of a 28-year-old freelance photographer.
Thirty-one-year-old Eric Vaughn was arrested Saturday after allegedly shooting Wil Lewis in the back.
Alderman Joe Moore’s ward includes the area where Lewis was shot and he was in the area when the shooting occurred. He told the Chicago Sun-Times (https://bit.ly/1kVEVyz ) that he saw the gunman shoot at a group of fleeing young people.
Lewis’ friends say Lewis was to start a job on Monday as a photographer with an online men’s clothing store.
Vaughn is scheduled to appear in court Monday. It was not immediately known if he has an attorney and he does not have a listed phone number.
