Candace Parker played with confidence and determination in her first playoff game for the Chicago Sky. She brought home a win while on triple-double watch. The legend did it all while debuting on-court her Candace Parker Collection, Exhibit (A)ce sneakers in a core black and gold metallic colorway. While a 21 point lead was sliced to three, the Chicago Sky beat the Dallas Wings.
Candace Parker scored 11 points, 15 rebounds, 7 assists and three steals. Teammates Courtney Vandersloot, Kahleah Cooper, Arike Ogunbowale and Isabelle Harrison contributed to the Chicago Sky’s win.
Parker and Vandersloot became the first pair of teammates to have 10+ points, 8+ rebounds and 5 or more assists in a WNBA Playoff game.
“The playoffs start when the road team wins a game,” Parker said. “Literally the playoffs will start for us or end for us (at Minnesota). So I think that’s our mentality. We’ve toed the water so much this year with greatness and we haven’t really quite got over it. And I think we’re a team that does things when we have to. So hopefully we realize we have to.”
The Chicago Sky face the Minnesota Lynx on Sunday. With a win, they would face the Connecticut Sun.
