ALD. PAT DOWELL, CHAIR OF CITY COUNCIL BUDGET COMMITTEE, ENDORSES COMMISSIONER BRANDON JOHNSON FOR MAYOR

CHICAGO – Cook County Commissioner Brandon Johnson today was endorsed for mayor of Chicago by 3rd Ward Alderman Pat Dowell. Ald. Dowell, chair of the Chicago City Council Budget Committee, is the sixth member of the Council to endorse Commissioner Johnson. 

“Alderman Dowell has been a steady, compassionate and competent public servant for nearly three decades, and an exemplary model of leadership for myself and countless others,” Commissioner Johnson said. “She loves the people of the 3rd Ward, and her vision for the city of Chicago is consistent with the desires of working people and working families.

“This is the vision I will bring to the office of mayor of the city of Chicago, and I am tremendously honored and humbled to have her support.”

The endorsement builds on the growing momentum of Commissioner Johnson’s campaign, and adds to the powerful coalition that he is building across the city.
