Four people were wounded Monday afternoon and evening in separate shootings on the South Side.
About 6:50 p.m., a 23-year-old man was shot in the foot in what appeared to be a drive-by shooting, police said. After the shooting, which happened in the 400 block of East 71st Street, the man was taken in stroger good condition to John H. Stroger, Jr. Hospital of Cook County.
Earlier, an 18-year-old man was riding a bicycle in the 8300 block of South Marquette Avenue when someone inside a white SUV fired shots and hit the victim in the left calf at 3:53 p.m., according to a South Chicago District police sergeant.
The bicyclist was taken by Chicago Fire Department ambulance to Stroger, the sergeant said. His condition was not known.
The victim was taken to John H. Stroger, Jr. Hospital of Cook County in serious condition, said Chicago Fire Department Chief Kevin MacGregor. Zala said his condition had stabilized.
In a separate shooting that happened during an argument in the 700 block of West 58th Street in Englewood about 1 p.m., another male suffered a graze wound to the neck, Zala said.
“The offender produced a gun and shot him,” Zala said.
MacGregor said the victim was also taken to Stroger in serious condition.
No arrests have been made in any of the shootings.
