District 205 hosts Open Forum Aug. 28

HARVEY, Ill. — The Board of Education of Thornton Township high Schools District 205, along with its Principal Search Committee, will host an Open Forum  at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 28, in the Thornton Township High School Auditorium, 15001 Broadway Ave. The forum is open to staff, faculty and community members.

The high school’s current principal has accepted a new role within the District.

District 205 has appointed a committee to lead the search for a new principal. The committee is chaired by Dr. Jerry B. Doos, assistant superintendent. Other committee members include Dist. 205 Superintendent Dr. Nathaniel Cunningham; Chris Clark, Mayor of Harvey; Angelica Gozalez, parent and community member; Wanda Russel, Thorntown Township High School assistant principal; Nina Graham, board of education president; Dwayne Bearden, president of faculty association; Sonja Bradley, president of student board of education; and Rosaura Duran, coordinator of Human Resources.

The committee, staff, faculty and community members will develop a leadership profile to ensure the next principal has the educational values consistent with the vision and mission to serve the students and the community.
