1–Chicago Jazz Festival 
The Chicago Jazz Festival is a much anticipated event for hundreds of residents each year.  It’s also a huge a tourist magnet. This year, the 36th Annual free weekend event will feature local, national and international performers. Rufus Reid hits the stage Friday (6 p.m.). The Ari Brown Quintet (5 p.m.) performs on Saturday and Cecile McLorin Salvant (7:10 p.m.) helps wrap up on Sunday. For the complete schedule click HERE.
The popular musical event takes place at the Jay Pritzker Pavilion in Millennium Park, which is open daily from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m.
2–Chicago’s Best Standup
If you’re looking for some laughs after a stressful week, the Laugh Factory, 3175 N. Broadway, might be the place to go this weekend. The act starts at 8 p.m. on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.  Tickets range from $17 to $27.
3–The African Festival of the Arts
The African Festival of the Arts celebrates 25 years this weekend. Tickets can be purchased at the gate for $20. Children and senior tickets are $5.  Attendees will gather in Washington Park,  51st St. and Cottage Grove where they will enjoy live entertainment from a variety of artists such as Musiq Soul Child and Salif K-eita. There will be hand-crafted jewelry and art for sale, as well as African food for patrons to sample.
4–Atropia Fest
Atropia Fest is Chicago’s largest indoor and outdoor music and art festival. This is the third year. It will take place at the Chicago Urban Art Society, 600 W. Cermak Rd. Saturday, 2 p.m. to 10 p.m.
More than 100 artists will showcase and sell their work. There will be live music and theater performances, a beer garden, food and plenty for children to do.  Tickets are $6.
5–Navy Pier’s Fireworks
This is the second to last show of the season.  The fireworks are happening Saturday at 10:15 p.m.
6–The North Coast Music Festival
This three-day event will feature artists like Kid Cudi and Talib Kweli on Saturday. Get your tickets HERE.
7–Boat Cruise
While the weather is still nice, why not enjoy a boat cruise on Lake Michigan? There are plenty of options from the Mystic Blue to Spirit of Chicago.
