Words of love

Picture 19

Words come out at night as we lie awake in memory.

I often think about the old, so all alone and wonder, what runs through their
minds as the clock ticks on.
I watch their eyes and ask myself will I be just like them and live in memories of the past.
Or will I make my world within my words, and die within their lines.
So came this poem.
Enjoy.

Words of Love
Haunting words that disturb me, time and time again.
Words, that tumble in my mind, for years and years.
Erotic in their lustfulness, as I grow old,
a comfort that I too once was loved.
I lie awake at night as voices fill my room.
Dancing with the shadows, in between the light that
chases them.
I hear your voice, it comes with such clarity,
and then, it disappears into the shadows once again.
The memories of loves long gone,
some too old to recall the faces,
that broke my heart.
But the words, that spilled from their tender lips,
keep me company as the night wears on and on,
and on and on.
I see the streets where we held hands, and fell in love.
I see the light, that spilled down, from an old store sign and
kissed your face. But who you are no longer interest me.
But the words you spoke to me, remain deep within my mind.
The years have come and gone, my bones are old and weathered.
But the words you whispered in my ears, as I held you close to me,
how could I forget those words, I love you dear.
Haunting words that disturb me, time and time again.
Words, that tumble in my mind, for years and years and years.
Erotic in their lustfulness, as I grow old and feeble.
A comfort in the lonely nights, as time slowly passes on.
These words they dance across the walls with memories,
a reminder that I too once was loved.
Before the shadows came and chased love away and I too old too care.
