USENI EUGENE PERKINS will present his new book, "Poetry from the Masters: The Black Arts Movement," Sunday, 2 p.m.-4 p.m., at the Woodson Regional Library, 9525 S. Halsted St.

Useni will be joined by Chicago Black Arts Movement masters including Angela Jackson, Haki Madhubuti, Sterling Plumpp and Carolyn Rodgers.

THE TEMPEST by William Shakespeare directed by Tina Landau continues through May 31 at Steppenwolf Theatre, 1650 N. Halsted St., with an integrated cast including Tina Landau, Alana Arenas, Frank Galati, Jon Michael Hill, Tim Hopper, James Vincent Meredith, Yasen Peyankov, Lois Smith, Alan Wilder, Eric James Casady, Miles Fletcher, Stephen Louis Crush, Mike Nussbaum, Emma Rosenthal and Craig Spidle. Curtain time Tuesday-Sunday is 7:30 p.m.; Saturday and Sunday matinees at 3 p.m.; and Wednesday matinees at 2 p.m.

NATIONAL TAP DANCE DAY performance features Chicago tap icon and musical entrepreneur, Reggio “The Hoofer” McLaughlin, recreating the days of Harlem’s legendary Savoy ballroom in Chicago at the Old Town School of Folk Music, 4554 N. Lincoln Ave., May 16 at 7:30 p.m.
