Chicago police say a 55-year-old woman found dead in a South Side motel may have been a victim of domestic violence. The victim was found in the motel room on South Cottage Grove Avenue late Saturday afternoon and was pronounced dead at the scene. The Cook County Medical Examiner’s office identified the dead woman Sunday as Paulette Thomas. Chicago police officer Laura Kubiak says detectives are looking for a specific offender and believe the killing was an act of domestic violence. (AP) ______ Copyright 2008 Associated Press.
