Dr. Allison Foster is a distinguished pediatrician, Assistant Professor of Pediatrics, and Assistant Program Director for the Pediatric Residency Program at the University of Chicago. For 17 years, she has sustained a busy and deeply rewarding clinical practice across Chicago and the south suburbs, providing compassionate, equitable care to children and families. As a Teaching Attending at a Federally Qualified Health Center on Chicago’s South Side, she is a devoted advocate for health equity, community wellness, and the empowerment of Black and Brown neighborhoods.  

A passionate educator, Dr. Foster has trained and mentored countless medical students and residents at Northwestern University and the University of Chicago. Her research focuses on antimicrobial stewardship, early literacy as a social determinant of health, and childhood health equity. She has proudly served on the Board of Directors for Ada S. McKinley Community Services. A native of Chicago’s south suburbs, Dr. Foster earned degrees from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine before completing pediatrics training at Children’s Memorial Hospital. A devoted wife and mother, she is also a dedicated marathon runner, having completed 13 marathons around the world, including in China, Germany, and South Africa.
