Founded on the principles of helping adult players develop skills both on and off the court, the Windy City Groove professional men’s basketball team will open its second season as a new member of the American Basketball Association (ABA). The announcement was made by Windy City Groove general manager Donzell Starks and ABA co-founder Joe Newman.

“Since its founding in 1967 and renaissance in 1999, the ABA has provided a unique competitive platform for talented basketball players from across the country,” says Newman. “We are excited to have the Windy City Groove join our growing league of nearly 1,000 players and more than 70 teams across 10 divisions to offer heart-pounding games for basketball enthusiasts around the globe.”
“With just two seasons under our belt, we were looking for ways to share our brand with more fans and broader audiences. Becoming a part of the ABA affords us a huge opportunity to do just that,” explains Starks. “The ABA has a rich legacy of stellar players and has served as a strong pipeline to international recruiters for decades.
