SANTA BARBARA, Calif. — Fire officials say gusty winds have pushed flames to the edge of the Santa Barbara city limit after destroying dozens of foothill homes in the past three days. City Fire Chief Andrew DiMizio says "all hell broke loose" early Friday as flames rushed down steep canyons. He says fire crews put out roof fires and blocked the flames from spreading into the city proper. Dry weather, scorching temperatures and wind gusts of up to 65 mph are forecast for Friday.
