Alderman Will Burns announced his resignation as Chicago’s 4th Ward Alderman. Burns will taking a position with Airbnb as the Senior Advisor and Midwest Director of Policy. This comes as a surprise  to the public however Mayor Rham Emanuel publicly  wished him well in his next endeavor. 

The Mayor is expected to take necessary steps to fill his seat, requiring candidates to fill out an online application lead by Alderman Michelle Harris (8th Ward), Chairman of Rules and Ethnics. A commission of community leaders will narrow down final applicants.
