While few doubt ‘Ye’s intellectual capabilities, many were struck as to whether the announcement was sincere, or a strange joke.
“I don’t know what I’m finna lose after this,” West said. “It don’t matter, though; It’s not about me. It’s about ideas. New ideas. People with ideas. People who believe in truth. And yes, as you probably could’ve guessed by this moment, I have decided in 2020 to run for president.”
Voters won’t know just how serious Mr. West’s candidacy is until 2020 draws closer. But, what cannot be denied is if Kanye were to take office, he would make history in a way that that is rivaled by previous office holders. While a few candidates with little to no political experience have put their hats in the ring, one cannot help but marvel at the amusing changes Kanye West would bring to the White House– if he were elected.
Running mate: America’s sweet heart
What better a running mate than America’s musical sweetheart, Taylor Swift? Besides, their friendship is one that has oddly bloomed before most fans’ eyes. Swift can do no wrong in the entertainment world, and she’d certainly earn the front runner more votes than he’d even get on his own.
Big Sean for ‘Attorney General’
The truth is, ‘Ye’s friend and musical mentee isn’t just going off name recognition. In fact, he’s a quite intelligent, talented, and versatile young man. He attended one of the most prestigious schools in Detroit, Cass Technical High School, before his rap career took off. Sean’s attention to issues that matter coupled with an ability to make listeners want to hear what he has to say would undoubtedly make him an viable asset to the Presidential Cabinet.
First Lady with the most ‘selfies’… and nudity
It would certainly be a history making moment if Instagram’s ‘Selfie Queen’ were to move into the White House. Can you just imagine how much she would do with the background and lighting?
Environmental agenda: Save the ‘trees’!
After all, Kanye did admit that he’d gotten ‘his smoke on’ before his big speech at the 2015 VMAs. “I rolled up a little something. I knocked the edge off!”
The ‘Kardashian’ Cabinet
Kanye married into quite a larger-than-life family, and appears to have great relationships with them all. From Kris to Kylie, and Rob to… Caitlyn. Mr. West would more than like employ each one’s ‘skills’ to serve as members of his political team. Can you not already see ‘Clique’ being his campaign theme song?
‘Hov and Bey’ get their own national monuments
Mr. West’s fondness and admiration of these two is one that the rest of the population would recognize on a ‘national’ level. After all, who wouldn’t want to see images of hip hop royalty etched forever in stone?
More ‘Art in School’ programs… and more
Let’s not get so carried away with jokes that we forget how much Kanye is a champion of the arts. A good guess is that funding for these types of programs would be a top priority for the music artist. More than likely, Mr. West would devote considerable funding to this area, and provide incentives to inspire kids and others to stay engaged with their creative capabilities.
‘College Dropout’ Incentives
Given that this has always been one of the most signature aspects of his image, he’d be less hard on those who don’t complete post-secondary school. In fact, so-called ‘college drop-outs’ might even get a pass so long as they are motivated by creativity and hard work. There’s also a good chance ‘Ye might also fight for student loan reform. He knows the struggle of being a broke college kid, even if for a short time.
White House relocation to the ‘Chi
It’s his hometown, so what more can be expected? And, it’s also highly likely the residence would get quite a visual upgrade, on the inside and out. #BlackHouse, maybe?
First President with his own holiday… while still alive 
The National ‘Ye Day would become a reality. On this day, it’s nearly a guarantee that people would receive some sort of tax incentive for rocking their Yeezy’s and trashing Nike, Adidas, and any other competitors.
Music studio in the West Wing
It’s virtually impossible to imagine that Kanye West would make the Oval office his primary work space, and not incorporate a music studio into his nearby living quarters. Imagine the many famous faces that would frequent the location. Kanye’s team would be hard at work on an album, most likely title
