The Rev. Dr. L. Bernard Jakes, senior pastor at West Point M.B. Church on 35th Street and Cottage Grove Avenue said his church is open and ready to serve students affected by the Chicago Teachers Union strike. The church will be open for the students during the duration of the strike. The strike began on Monday.
