The Finance Assistant directs, manages, supervises and coordinates the activities and operations of the customer service
division within the Finance Department overseeing water billing, business licenses, vehicles licenses, accounts payable and liens. The position also provides highly responsible and complex administrative support to the Finance Department. The Finance Assistant is responsible for ensuring customer service excellence and high quality productivity and efficiency in the customer service division. The Finance Assistant works closely with the Finance Director and Assistant Finance Director. This multi-tiered position is unique in that the position not only supervises staff, but it also serves as backup for the operational process under their supervisory authority. The position also supports financial and accounting functions of the Finance Department including those financial processes and systems
associated with the general fund and water fund. The successful candidate will have an Associate’s Degree in the field of either accounting, business, finance, public administration, management, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A Bachelor’s Degree preferred but not required. Applicants must have excellent cognitive skills, along with well-established verbal and written communication, and customer service skills. Applicants must have experience in public finance administration, finance department operations, including supervisory experience. Successful candidates must also be well-versed in utilizing various office-type software including MS Office Suite and other database management and/or enterprise software. The salary range for the position is $63,978 to $81,984 depending on qualifications, education and experience.
