NEWPORT NEWS, Va. — Suspended NFL star Michael Vick says he thinks he can play pro football for another 10-12 years if he’s reinstated. Vick took the stand in a Virginia bankruptcy court Friday in a hearing to assess how he’ll emerge from financial ruin after his 23-month sentence for bankrolling a dogfighting ring. Judge Frank Santoro asked Vick how many more years he thinks he could play in the NFL if he’s reinstated. The ex-Atlanta Falcons quarterback responded: "If I keep my body in shape, and do the right things, I think I have maybe 10 or 12 more years in my career." Vick also says he’s optimistic about his chances for reinstatement. Vick is expected to be released from custody in July. His agent said Thursday he hopes Vick can be back with the NFL by September. ______ Copyright 2009 Associated Press. All rights reserved.
