Vallas eyeing gubenatorial run

CHICAGO    Former Chicago Schools CEO Paul Vallas says he’s frustrated about opportunities Governor Rod Blagojevich has missed and is open to running again for governor.

Vallas was in Chicago on Monday to talk about his work as head of the New Orleans public schools.

However, during a speech before the City Club he had some criticism for Blagojevich, who defeated him in the 2002 Illinois Democratic primary.

Vallas says that with Democrats holding the governor’s seat and majorities in both legislative chambers, things should be getting done. He contends a lot of opportunities have been squandered.

Vallas also led the Philadelphia public school system after his unsuccessful gubernatorial run. (AP)
