CHICAGO (AP) — A 17-year-old has been ordered held on $250,000 bail in connection with the death of his 5-year-old nephew who was accidentally shot while playing with his twin brother earlier this week. Antoine Heard is charged as an adult with felony endangering a child, causing death. A judge set bail on Thursday. Cook County prosecutors say Heard found the loaded .380 caliber gun and stored it at the home where he lived with his sister and nephews. Police say Heard turned himself in after an investigation determined he brought the weapon into the home. He was charged Wednesday. His attorney Jodi Garvey says the former Crane High School student is distraught over his nephew’s death. Young Jonathan Jackson was shot in the abdomen Monday evening in his home on Chicago’s West Side. Copyright 2010 The Associated Press.
