ROLLING MEADOWS, Ill. — Fire officials in Rolling Meadows are investigating the cause of a second large-scale apartment fire in the northwest Chicago suburb this month. At least seven suburban fire departments and other agencies responded to Monday morning’s fire at an 85-unit condominium complex. No injuries were reported. Fire officials say the fire started in a third-floor unit, and all floors were evacuated. American Red Cross spokeswoman Maria Corral says the agency will meet with six families Tuesday to set up emergency aid. A temporary shelter has been closed. Authorities are also investigating the cause of a blaze at a building with about 100 units on May 7. No one was injured, but Corral says about 40 families required assistance. ______ Copyright 2009 Associated Press. All rights reserved.
