Two hurt in Dolton house fire

Fire officials say two men are injured after a fire gutted a south suburban house. The fire started in the garage of a two-story Dolton home around 2:40 p.m. on Sunday. Dolton Fire Chief Jerry McCullough says the fire started after a person working on a car in the garage accidentally loosened a gas line of the vehicle. That caused gas to spread on the floor and a metal light then fell on the floor and caused a spark. Both injured men were hospitalized. McCullough says about 65 firefighters from the area battled the fire for nearly two hours. ______ Copyright 2009 Associated Press. All rights reserved.
