LECLAIRE, Iowa — Authorities say two people from Illinois died in a fiery crash on Interstate 80 in eastern Iowa. The Iowa State Patrol says 39-year-old Diana Nesseler, of Milan, Ill., and 61-year-old James Daly, of St. Charles, Ill., were killed Monday evening near LeClaire. Troopers say the wreck happened in the eastbound lanes when a semitrailer hit a line of vehicles stopped at a construction zone. The truck hit the rear of Nesseler’s car, then the rear of a van, which was pushed into another semitrailer. Daly was a passenger in the van. The crash closed the interstate for several hours. ______ Copyright 2009 Associated Press. All rights reserved. This material may not be published, broadcast, rewritten, or redistributed.
