Authorities in DuPage County were holding two former McDonald’s workers on $750,000 bond apiece for allegedly robbing the restaurant where they worked in Lombard’s Yorktown Center. The two were charged Friday with armed robbery with a firearm and aggravated unlawful restraint. Police said a 54-year-old female manager was forced at gunpoint to open a safe about 5 a.m., Dec. 1 and then duct-taped. No shots were fired. She was not otherwise physically injured. The masked men made off with $17,000, officials said. Police say one of the defendants, 31-year-old Bobby L. Dean of Chicago, was a store manager at the time. The other, 21-year-old Jardell A. Woods of Bellwood, was a former employee. Both have prior criminal records. ______ Copyright 2009 Associated Press. All rights reserved.
