A woman said she was left to pay the bill on a date after she ordered dozens of oysters at a restaurant.
In a now-viral video, TikTok user EquanaB said the incident went down during her date at Fontaine’s Oyster House in Atlanta.
The woman said she had met her date a few weeks ago, and they had been texting for weeks leading up to the date. “I was bored and I had time, so he texts me like, “Can we meet for drinks?”‘ she recalled.
While on the date, the woman proceeded to order 48 oysters, which she can be seen eating in the viral TikTok video. The woman said her date gave her a strange look, but she “didn’t give a f***.”
“I was like, ‘Baby, you invited me out – I’m going to eat,'” she said.
After eating dozens of oysters, the woman ordered crab cakes and red-skinned potatoes. The TikTok user then revealed that her date said he was going to the restroom, but he actually left the restaurant and never came back. She was ultimately left to foot the bill.
“It’s been 10, 20, 30 minutes… Had to end up grabbing the tab… Left me with his one f****** drink,” the woman said in the video.
After leaving the date, the woman said the man texted her, saying “I offered to take you out for drinks and you ordered all that food – I can Cashapp the total for the drinks.”
Despite the woman having to pay for the bill, many social media users sided with her date, calling her out for noisily “slurping” the oysters and ordering too much food.
