Two men were charged Wednesday with the shooting death of 20-year-old Natasha Howliet while she stood near a bus stop on the West Side. Twin brothers Keith and Kelly Pearson, 31, were each charged with first-degree murder in the Oct. 7 drive-by shooting that occurred in the 3300 block of West Madison Street. Witnesses said that at around 8 p.m., a red vehicle pulled up near the bus stop and opened fire. Howliet, a mother of three, was struck in the back and died less than an hour later, police said. At a news conference Wednesday, Chicago Police Area 4 detective division Commander Anthony Riccio said the brothers –– self-admitted gang members –– were going after rivals. They “expressed remorse over the fact that they killed an innocent woman,” Riccio said. Services for Howliet were held today at New Mt. Pilgrim Church on the West Side.
