Recently students from Tribeca Flashpoint College (TFC) experienced their The Band Together: Spring 2016 Production in Action class at Tribeca Flashpoint College (TFC) rite of passage for all first-year students that make a direct impact on their education and the communities in which they live.
As part of its real-world curriculum, four student-led teams were tasked with creating a professional marketing campaign through social media, video PSA’s and mini documentaries to raise money for four charitable organizations. This year, funds raised will benefit Erie Neighborhood House, The Ace Hardware Foundation benefiting Lurie Children’s Hospital, A Leg to Stand On and Corazon.
The participating students end their two-month long assignment with a fierce battle-of-the-bands competition that’s sure to go down to the wire, as the judges will make the final donation to the winning team. They headed to Buddy Guy’s Legends on a mission and $7000 raised and more to go.
The Band Together: Spring 2016 Production in Action class at Tribeca Flashpoint College (TFC) held their Battle-of-the-Bands, that last Wednesday in April. After creating a professional marketing campaign through social media, video PSA’s and mini documentaries as part of their two-month curriculum, teams battled it out in a competition fittingly held at Chicago’s legendary Buddy Guy’s Legends. The nearly $20,000 raised by students will be distributed to charitable organizations. The Exceptions dazzled the judges to win the opportunity to perform once again at Buddy Guy’s Legends during the summer of 2016.
Tribeca Flashpoint College Students Turn Classroom Assignment into Donations for Charity
It was a full house at Buddy Guy’s Legends the night the TFC band played as musicians took the stage in the Battle-of-the Bands competition held by Tribeca Flashpoint College (TFC). Students though not season adults bringing all the life experience to the table brought passion and their love for music and in this case the Blues.
