HARRISBURG, Ill. — Authorities in southern Illinois plan a July trial for a daycare worker accused of putting hot sauce on the tongues of children as a way to discipline them. Twenty-eight-year-old Christi Bailey of Harrisburg has pleaded not guilty and is free on bond. She’s charged with seven counts, including battery, abuse and witness tampering. Authorities in Saline County say Bailey put hot sauce on the tongues of four children at Little Angels Learning Center between last October and Feb. 13. Investigators also contend Bailey grabbed a child and slammed her into a chair, and dragged a child into the daycare’s office while squeezing his arm. ______ Copyright 2009 Associated Press.
