Christmas is coming early to Chicago — and it’s arriving by train.

A special Walt Disney train pulled into Union Station Friday as part of a 40-city tour to promote a new movie. It’s an animated version of Charles Dickens’ "A Christmas Carol" starring Jim Carrey as Ebenezer Scrooge. It’s due out in November.

The Chicago station’s Great Hall will be decked out in Christmas decorations for the free, three-day promotion. Fake July snow will also be scattered around the venue.

Five, custom-designed rail cars are the main attractions. They’ll include artifacts from the Charles Dickens Museum of London. Sneak previews of the movie will also be shown.

The train tour started in Los Angeles in May. The last stop is New York City at the end of October.
